Research Accelerator for Multiple Processors
IBM opens the design of the PowerPC processor to universities and scientists. This is great news and I expect to see a boost in new and innovative processor designs. More performance with less power consumption and heat, for instance. But we see this all the time. Even the multi-core designs are not new to us. But I think we will see really new designs in the not-so-far future… So stay tuned.
Intel, AMD and ARM (and obviously all the others) – this might help you in the end.
